Feather plucking-of down feathers

by Connie
(Eastern Shore, VA)

Watson is my 2-1/2 year old female white eyed conure. She has just recently started plucking out all the down feathers on her back. She screams when she does it. She has plenty of toys to tear up. I super roomy cage she can fly in. Lots of love and attention. She watches the baby channel while Im at work. Diet is seed based(not a picky eater). Plenty of fruits and some veggies. Watson likes the shower everyday. I have cut this back to twice per week and still no improvement. What could be causing this? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You need to take your bird to an avian vet to rule out health issues.
