Feathers turning a dark color.

by Lyle
(San Antonio)

My 6 year old Jenday's green feathers are turning an almost black color. Is this normal?

Bird feathers turning black

No, this is not normal. Your bird may have nutritional issues or an illness. If you are not feeding your bird a diet of 80% pellets, like Harrison's or Roudybush and 20% treats, then please switch your bird to a healthy diet AFTER you Find an Avian Vet to determine what is FOR SURE wrong.

Colored pellets, ZuPreem and other cheap pellets and all seed diets will cause health problems. If you feed your bird people food, with all the chemicals, salt and toxic ingredients, this will cause health issues also.
