I'm very sorry to hear about this, and unless your bird is getting treatment right now, he will die. Birds have to be taken to an Avian Vet who is a vet who treats birds and other exotic wild animals. Dog and cat vets are not licensed or trained in the care of birds and routinely mis-diagnose and over medicate them to the point of death.

As for feeding your bird, you will first get treatment started, and this means right away. Make sure avian vet has a concrete diagnosis and treatment plan. Do not give your bird this and that as this causes more problems than it solves.

You will have to feed baby parrot handfeeding formula found here using either a spoon or a syringe which is the best way. If you use a spoon, bend edges up all around to make a type of funnel and make sure edges are sanded down as they can be sharp from being bent. Feed several times a day, and have someone else help you because bird may need to be gently held in place the first few times he is fed. Since he is sick, he will not want to eat, and you HAVE to feed him. After he eats some, he will begin to like it. The baby parrot handfeeding formula is very easy to digest for babies or sick birds and is the only thing you need to feed your bird until he is able to eat on his own again. Birds die shortly if not being fed, and getting a correct diagnosis and treatment plan from an Avian Vet is very important and will be the deciding factor on whether he lives or dies. Feeding is a must as well.

Good luck and let us know how this is going.

If your parrot is not eating then surely move on to next step ASAP, your bird CANNOT live on just WATER alone, your bird needs immediate attention, get that infection out and some form of feeding per your DOCTOR. Did your doctor not advise anything! This is serious. Parrots perish for the lack of knowledge and experience. Please get to the bottom of this ASAP! Keep us posted.
