Feeding bird while away
by: Tracie

Thanks for asking! You will need to have someone come and check on your bird a couple of times a day. Leave instructions on checking the water bottle, and how much food to feed your bird etc.

Leave the number of your avian vet and a signed form that they have permission to take your bird to the vet if the bird is ill.

We have 2 Lixit water bottles on our cages, because if the birds clog one with food or something, there will be another one. Lixit actually has come out with a new bottle that has a "stick" they have to bump to get water and they don't have clog or leak problems.

If you are still using water dishes, please consider replacing them. The water is bacterial laden within 3 - 4 hours, so your birds stand a chance for getting bacterial infections from the water. If your birds climb on the outside of the cage, purchase the bottles that don't have springs holding them on, so they don't get a foot or beak caught in the spring.

I hope you have a great trip!
