Feeding/Eating

My tiel has had food in his cage all day. When I let him out on the ground to play with me I always keep a little cup of water and food just in case he gets hungry or thirsty. He attacked the food like he hasn't eaten all day. I'm not sure why he is acting so hungry.

Your bird is either sick or under too much stress. If he is sick, you'll need to take him to be examined by an Avian Vet in your driving area. If he is under too much stress, you have to find out why as it could many things.

Do not play with your bird on the floor because all floors are dirty and are bad for birds. Something on the floor brought in on people's shoes can cause your bird to get sick, so he may be sick.

Let us know what the Avian Vet has to say because changes in behavior are usually first sign of illness.
