Female Yellow naped amazon parrot tries to mate with me

I used to have a female yellow naped amazon parrot that would try to rub her private area on me while making a "mating" sound, and then would shake or vibrate her feathers. Is this normal??

I don't understand the "used to have" part of your letter. Surely you did not get rid of her because of something so normal and so simple?

It is normal for sexually mature birds to develop certain behaviors like this. All you have to do is put her either on top of her cage and back in cage with a NO letting her know you don't like that.

So, yes a bird having sexual feelings toward opposite sex human if there is no male parrot around is perfectly normal and to be expected. It is not the end of the world and can be easily handled. It does not mean they need a mate either because birds do not ever have to breed to be happy healthy well adjusted.
