Negative Comment: I brought my cockatiel to her post-op to find a local vet. She was rough, cold, angry and my bird was traumatized. I know of other bird owners whose birds died of misdiagnosis. She shouldn't be practicing -- at least, not on birds!!! Please take her off this list!!
Another negative comment: I saw the review under this vet on your page and wanted to add my own experience... I am one of those owners who had a bird mid-diagnosed and died because of it. Mimi was rough handling my bird, left without giving me any information or answering my questions (I was left with a very confused vet tech who told me to just trust her) and it took a full 9 days for a simple gram stain to come back from "the lab" (why can you not do this on site? what kind of 'avian' vet is this??? and not only that but I had to call repeatedly to get the results, they didn't even call me immediately when they came in), after which my budgie had already died from something that Mimi claimed was an infection, well the gram stain came back with no evidence for infection, which was not surprising because his initial symptoms did not resemble an infection and she made her diagnosis purely on the fact that he had watery droppings while at the office, which I explained must be from stress, and she just shook her head and walked out. I gave him the antibiotics and he immediately took a nosedive and died within days of seeing Mimi (I will NOT call her a doctor of any kind). Later on I made friends with a woman had also taken her ferret there, who was also mishandled, mis-diagnosed, and died. SHE SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED WITH ANYONE'S ANIMALS. I will never forgive myself for trusting her, I lost a beloved pet because of her incompetence. I believe you should keep her listed on your site, along with the current review in addition to mine, as a warning for anyone considering her. (Might I also add, it seems she is more interested in animals for breeding and show, not as pets, as I had heard great things from a parrot owner, but everyone with small beloved pets she seems to treat as disposable. Additionally, I once saw the other vet at the office when I got a new-bird checkup, and they did not have a scale because she had brought it to the local bird fair to use in demonstrations taking a basic piece of diagnostic equipment away from a clinic who might need it for sick birds just so she can impress people at a bird show is unforgivable.) Sorry this is so long. She is just so awful, and the pain will never go away.Avian Vet? Yes
