Your bird needs to be examined by an avian veterinarian immediately.

Anytime your bird is either sick or injured, you have to take him to an Avian(bird) Vet in your driving area. Birds need to be taken to Avian Vet for routine things like nail and wing clipping plus a yearly exam to make sure all is well.

This sore is some kind of infection caused by possibly an injury. It has to be diagnosed and treated by an avian vet ONLY as dog and cat vets are not licensed to treat exotic animals and birds and will either do nothing and charge you a lot for it or they will do something and it is wrong. They don't know how to diagnose or treat any kind of illness in a bird, plus they do not know proper dosages of meds to give, so your bird loses with them everytime.Birds have no fat in their bodies, so med dosages are very tricky and have to be done by a licensed and trained avian vet.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
