feather plucking
by: Alex

My budgie has a severe problem and is back and from from the vets.

You need to get yours to an avian vet ASAP.

My budgie is due at the vets tomorrow as she now wakes up every day in a lot of pain and this wakes me up when she cries out in pain multiple times in the early morning. She has very some patches where she plucked. This is heart breaking for me to see her in such pain.

She now has a balding chest, upper back and one wing is losing feathers.

The longer this is left, the worse it will get. Trust me, I know.

Bird chewing feathers and has red spots
by: Tracie

There is just no way to diagnose feather chewing and spots over the Internet. Your bird needs to be seen in person by an avian vet.

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.

Please read this Feather Damaging Behavior article for more information on feather chewing behavior.
