DNA tests are easy.
by: Tina

Contact avianbiotech or zoogen and ask for a blood card. It costs about 20 bucks give or take a few dollars. You will need to supply a drop (VERY small drop) of blood for this test. If you're squeamish about getting a drop of blood via a nicked toenail, then you can ask a vet to do it, or ask the person that does your wing clip/nail trims on the Grey. Most bird shops will do it for you either for free or a marginal cost.

If you choose to obtain the sample yourself, then be prepared for it. Have a blood clotting substance with you, a bird can actually bleed to death from a nicked toe nail if it continues to bleed out. Kwik Stop, flour, even cornstarch will stop the blood once you get your drop for the blood card. Just stick the nail into the blood clotting substance and wait for a few seconds. It should stop pretty fast. Keep an eye on the bird for 10-15 minutes afterwards to make sure it doesn't start bleeding again. Sounds scary, but it's very, very easy and doesn't hurt the bird.

However, if you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself, call bird shops or where you got the bird and ask them to help.

Determining sex of AG
by: Tracie

You will need to have a DNA test done. I would suggest going to an Avian Vet or have your breeder send it in.
