Getting our parrot to talk

we have had our beautiful parrot for 8 months now, and she is approx. 8yrs.old. What can we do to get her to talk. We talk to her all the time and sometimes she will let us pet her.?

some parrots never talk, and if you got a parrot just because they have the ability to talk then thats just a wrong assumption and you should love it unconditionally anyway
