Golden Capped Conure

Every time I pet my golden capped conure, she starts flicking her wings and sometimes does a biting motion toward one of her wings. Is that just how she shows affection or is it something abnormal?

Conure attacking wing when being petted
by: Tracie

Dr B would need to examine your bird to be able to tell if there is something bothering your bird's wing or if it is just trying to tell you it doesn't want to be pet.

If it doesn't attack the wing accept when you are petting it, then it is likely a message to you that it doesn't like what you are doing. It could be that the wing is sore though, and when you pet the bird it hurts.

If your bird has not been seen by an avian vet then now would be a good time to Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird to make sure it is healthy.
