goose stepped on thorn. we extracted it but now it seems infected. he is badly hobbling on one foot. we washed with gelatin soap and water and put on oxigenated water but don't know what else to do.

Goose with infected foot

Hi, Tracie. THanks for your advice on the goose with the infected foot. FYI there are no specialized vets within a couple hundred miles of where I live in Mexico, and none of the local vets knows any more than treating cows and burros. Could you please tell me what kind of antibiotics should be used? A salve or cream I wouldn't know how or where to five aq shot to a goose!!!) THank you for any additional information.

Bird with infected foot

Your bird needs an antibiotic, and Dr B can not prescribe over the Internet. You will need to Find an Avian Vet to examine and treat your bird.
