Grainy substance puke or regurgitation?

I am keeping a bird for a neighbor...2nd time I have kept him and today I have noticed some grainy substance on his perch don't know if puke or regurgitation..he is eating Ok and appears to be active as normal - just want to make sure if should be concerned about this...

Stuff on bird perch

It could be regurgitated food, it could be that the bird is sick. I would contact the owner and see if this is normal for the bird. Next time, ask the owner to sign a statement that you are allowed to take the bird to an avian vet and make sure they have an account set up with an avian vet so you can take the bird in the event there is an emergency.
