Green Quaker Parrot has red around his eye!

Hello there,

Are you really worried about Buddy? I think that if you were, you wouldn't have been here asking this question but instead take him to an Avian Vet immediately. Times like these are when you'd want to know for sure what has happen to your dear little bird.

You said that you're worried that it's serious and then in the same sentence you said that YOU DON'T WANT to take him to the vet. "YOU'RE WORRIED BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE HIM TO THE VET?" I really can't comprehend!

You're also asking us on this site that have never seen Buddy, if we think it's serious; are YOU serious? I don't think so. If Buddy was your human son, would you've asked this question on a website and DIDN'T WANT to take him to a physician? I BET NO! Things like these bother me a lot. It make my eyes tear up because these precious little ones can't talk, neither can they express their feelings nor fend for themselves. And I must say that this really breaks my heart!

Why would anyone treat their pets differently from their human children? This, I cannot ever understand; have a heart you people! All lives are important and they do feel the hurt and pain just as us when they're not well; especially when they’re poor and helpless little animals.

Sorry for my harshness and please don't think that I'm a bad person because I'm not. I'm a very loving person with a heart of not gold but diamond as I've been told by many. I am also aware of that and "I can proudly say this because I've yet to see or even hear of someone with a heart as my own".

I do have two birds and they're happy and well taken care off. I think that I love them and care for them even more than my only child because they can't let me know how they feel and if they are hurting but my daughter can. Every day I make sure that they're well and if I do see a sign of an illness I shall immediately take them to their doctor, (Avian Vet). I do not take ANY chances with them whatsoever!

I do hope that you've taken your dear little Buddy to an Avian Vet by now and soon he'd get well. I don't know if it's money that you don't have hence the reason you said that you don't want to take him to a vet but if there was any way that I could've helped, it would've been nice to help your dear little Bud.
I shall be praying for him to get well so please keep us posted and thank you. Take care and God bless you and your dear little Buddy.

Bird with red around eye

It could be an allergy, it could be an infection. Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.
