Green Tongue

by Jess
(Melbourne)

My pet Budgie has a green tongue at first I thought it could be green wood or dye or something but there's none of that around his cage and he also has pants a lot and his tail bobs. I'm really worried can you please help me. :-(

Green Tongue

Your bird is very, very sick and must be examined and treated by an Avian Vet in your driving area. This is very serious, so do not delay in taking him to an Avian Vet because what you are describing is latter stages of a very bad infection which will kill him shortly if not treated. Anytime you see labored breathing, this is a serious condition, and an Avian Vet is your only hope of saving your bird.

Thanks for writing and hope your bird is okay after his trip to Avian Vet,
Linda
