First of all your bird is an Alexandrine parrot. Secondly, he is way too young to tell whether male or female. Only an Avian Vet will be able to do a DNA test to see whether male or female.

My suggestion is you do some reading and study about your bird so you can know more about him and his species.

He looks very young, and if you have not already had him examined by an Avian Vet now is the time to do so. Infections are common with birds as they are moved from here to there, and with the babies, it is even more important to make sure they are infection free. We recommend an exam by an Avian Vet curing the first few days a new bird is in our home to make sure they are healthy.

When you got a parrot, you also had to know that he will need to be treated by an Avian Vet ONLY as having an avian vet is a big part of having a bird.

I have one aswell.
by: Connor

It may be a Male as it has quite a fair bit of red on it's wing.
I have one and he is 2 years old and he has got his ring, he only started getting it around 18 months old. They usually start getting their ring around 18-20 months old. They sometimes have more red on their wings then females.
I am getting a female for mine.
And then i will be able to compair them.
Hope I helped :)
