If your bird is eating a high quality organic pelleted diet, then feed NO hardboiled eggs. If you are feeding an all seed diet, then you need to start changing him over to the organic pellets because an addition of egg will not make the all seed diet a complete diet. Cooking for birds, dogs and cats actually requires a very in-depth knowledge of nutrition like a person would get by going to college to learn. Nutrition is not about just giving an egg here and little meat there and all will be well. What this kind of diet does is pose problems with dietary imbalances which are worse than no eggs, meat or whatever.

There are several of the organic pellets found here, with Harrison's being the best. The change takes time and below is a link to article written by avian vet on how to go about getting started with this.

Switching Birds To Pellets article

To answer question about egg, not much and not very often. Once you begin the organic pelleted diet change, give NO animal products of any kind.

You also need to take your bird to be examined by an avian vet before starting a new diet to make sure he is healthy and free of infections or other physical issues that could create problems. A bird who already has physical issues should have them taken care of before any dietary changes.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
