Depending on how much head nodding we are talking about here, it can either mean nothing much or indicate a central nervous system problem. If your bird constantly nods or nods a lot, it is time to have him checked out by an Avian Vet because this can be an indication of some kind of toxin in his food, water or environment. Do not use harsh chemcials to clean with, no scented candles, air fresheners even the plug in kind, no hairspray, nail polish and remover, perfume and even heavily scented dryer sheets will kill birds. Some toxins attack the central nervous system while others attack digestive tract and the respiratory system. You need to take your bird to an Avian Vet for an exam and blood work as soon as is possible. If it has been more than a year since last visit, run, don't walk to the avian vet.

Sounds like your bird is a happy camper! Head nodding usually is an indication he likes you or likes what is going on. Does he/she also click it's beak? Watch it! You will find yourself nodding back and clicking too.
