Green Cheek Conure
by: Karen M.

Your bird is a green cheek conure. The one in the picture appears to be a Cinnamon Green Cheek, judging by the red on it's belly. If your bird is also displaying yellow on it's belly and under it's wings, then it is probably a Pineapple or Yellow-sided Green Cheek. They make great pets and are lots of fun...real clowns. Best of luck & enjoy your new friend!

Conure care
by: Tracie

You have a conure, and they should eat 75 - 80% high quality pellets like Harrison's or Roudybush and only 20% healthy treats, that includes seeds.

Some conures stay sweet without training, but some become nippy and suddenly decide they don't like men or women too. Please visit our Parrot Training page for help with nutrition and training.

There are some articles there about how my husband was able to train our conures to tolerate me when they went from loving me to biting me like crazy.
