help i think my bird is sick

Hi i have a lovebird, Dudley who laid an egg today. I think there is a problem because there is quite a big red lump near her anal area. And when you press her abdomen to see if there are anymore eggs, poo rushes out everywhere. She doesnt seem in pain, but she means the world to me so please ansewr

Your bird is in serious trouble here with egg binding which happens when hens are too young to lay or are eating an all seed diet. Do not mash on her anymore because if the egg breaks inside her, she will die from poisoning.

This is an emergency, and if your bird is still alive by the time you read this, please take her to the closest Avian Vet emergency facility in your area. Do not bother with dog and cat vets as they will not know what to do or will do the wrong stuff. Call an Avian Vet and arrange to bring bird in right away as an emergency.
