Hello,My name is Aleksandra.I have nymphicus hollandicus parrot for 7 years now.I love him very much but how much i try i can't teach him not to bite me.He knows how to step on my finger and he likes to be pet on the head only.He doesn't bite much, but when i try to pet him on wings or stomach he doesnt like it at all,and also when i pet him on the head when he hears some noise from outside he bites.

He is biteing just a little it doesn't hurt but i hate when he does it.I hope that he isn't to old and that you can help me to hold him in my both hands and pet him if you know any way i could achieve this i would be very grateful.Thanx in advanse!
PS:sorry if my english is bad,we only learn it in school.

All birds bit now and then. Petting on the wings and belly may get your bird sexually excited, and this causes more biting. Head only petting is the best for my birds, or thye go all crazy on me :-)

We have some articles you can read on our Parrot Training page on biting, screaming and health. Some of the same training methods used for screaming birds also apply for biting birds.

You can also get some free bird training help from Chet.
