what is an australian parrot
by: Anonymous

First of all all parrot species can be different, you can get quieter parrots in one species extremely loud in other species. So it will help to know what the 'Australian' parrot species is that you're talking about.

Secondly, you have only had the bird 1 week. You can get some individuals that are shyer than others & take much longer than 1 week to come out of their shell. It's important not to expect too much form a new bird in a new home.

You should take your parrot to an avian vet in your own area for it's first wellness check.

I have 3 parrots. All of them are very different in vocalising. One is quiet & prefers to talk when feeling like being vocal. Another is medium with noise level & the other is extremely loud. It is because of the species of parrots that they are.

Quiet bird probably sick
by: Tracie

This is not normal. I hope you have avian vets where you live. Please try to Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird.

If you purchased this bird in the market, instead of from a good breeder, then it was likely sick when you purchased it. Some breeders keep their birds in filthy environments and do not care for the birds, they are just money making items to them.
