Before entering into any breeding program, your birds have to be given a clean bill of health by an Avian Vet in your driving area. Infections are passed onto the babies, and then the babies can die from them as their immune systems are not developed. This is the time to find any infections or problems with organ function in your birds. Sick birds or birds with other physical problems do not make good parents and sometimes die from the stress of nesting.

As for when thy breed, you will know it and see it. If you have not, then they are not. Birds are not shy about doing the wild thing, believe me. At the very least, you'll hear all the ruckus.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
