How to sex your lorikeet without dna
by: Anonymous

It is said by many that a male will have less yellow bleeding from the orange on its breast feathers, this is not true, males tend to have more yellow bleeding and brighter orange in the centre of their chests, where the females tend to be more orange across the chest, there is also a size and shape difference a male as more of a hawk shaped blocky head whilst a female is more slender with a smaller dove like head,a male also has a longer tail and in general a much brighter green than the female

How can you tell a lorikeet's gender?
by: Tracie

The only way to tell the gender is to have a DNA test run. I would suggest you let either your breeder or avian vet do the test.
