How this site's question forum works

by Tracie
(Site Owner)

People are constantly writing saying someone is rude, stupid, doesn't know what they are talking about etc. as if everyone posting on here is the site owner. They don't stop to realise that THEY post on here and THEY are NOT the site owner. ;-)

I try to remove any terribly rude remarks, and for those of you who try to post the hateful remarks about other people posting here I remove those too.

Sometimes people say stuff they do or use that I personally wouldn't do, but there are people in other countries that do not have access to avian vets, healthy pellets and things like that. If they have have something that might help someone, then I post it.

It is up to individuals to do the research to find out all the opinions out there, it is NOT up to me to decide what opinion is correct. Please do NOT post hateful things about the people posting on this site.

I, Tracie, am the only one that owns this site. I have an avian vet that helps me with some questions. If you disagree with me or Dr B, then that is your perogative. You are welcome to post what you think is correct, but do it with grace, not ugly words.

Thanks, Tracie

Hi Traci

You have done the conure and parrot world a great deal of good by starting this site. When I started out a conure owner I was totally, totally green. Never had a bird before. Without this site and the carefully cultivated comments and stories provided I probably would have made many mistakes, perhaps even causing injury to my little family member.

Keep up the good work! There will always be those who say and do hurtful things. Open forum invites this kind of behavior unfotunatly. But you have the right to edit out what you don't want and there are a lot of us who appreciate that.

Regards. . . and keep on posting!

Thank you TRACIE! I did see some replies with terrible things said and I even tried to offset some of the harsh words. I was surprised to even see that in here! I kept it to myself, but YES, I completely agree with HOW this wonderful SITE is supposed to be dealt with. I started wondering if it were safe to even ASK some question that I may have! Thank you for posting this today. It gave me a sense of REAL RELIEF and a sense of COMFORT. I enjoy sharing my input and helping if I can. I am NO expert but I do have experiences being a parrot MOM, so I enjoy helping in any way that I CAN. Thank you so much for correcting the problems in here. KUDOS and cheers from my sun conure SKITTLES and my indian ringneck IVY!

Hello Tracie, thank you so much for this wonderful site. I'm very happy to have come across your site which I'm learning from so much every day. I do share my views regularly and I don't think that I've ever hurt anyone so far. Sorry to hear some people do get hurt by other's. I do try my best to help people with encouraging words especially when they're hurting about their sick pets or hurting from the loss of their pets. Thanks again Tracie for this site and thanks to everyone who has been helpful. God bless.

I come to this site frequently as I find it a good source for information I might not find anywhere else. I like reading other posters' questions, it helps me learn more about birds and find out things I wouldn't normally think of.

It is a shame that other people are rude and nasty when they don't take into account the circumstances of the original poster. I do sometimes get upset that people post injury and illness questions thinking that will help save their bird. If my bird were to become injured or sick, I would not take the time to post, I would be at the vet right away.

This site is a wealth of information on bird behavior, training, food and toys. Kudos to you for keeping out the riff raff and providing a wonderful source of information. Thank you.
