Throw that worm medicine out and take this bird to an Avian Vet to be properly diagnosed and treated by someone who knows what they are doing! Pet store people are not Avian Vets or any kind of vets, nor are they licensed to dispense with advice about what is wrong with your bird.Never give any birds ANY of the medicines you find in pet stores because sick birds have to be diagnosed before being treated, and only Avian Vets can do this.
Never, ever give over the counter meds as these can and do kill birds. Your bird probably has a bacterial infection, as most birds coming from pet stores are already sick, and we recommend taking them to an Avian Vet the first week they are in your home.
So, please throw away the "worm" medicine, take your bird to a licensed, trained Avian Vet in your driving area and never ask pet store people what they think about anything because most of them are paid minimum wage to do the very minimum they can get by with. Every once in a while, you may find one who is more knowledgable, but even then, they are not allowed to give out any advice or make any diagnosis' because they are NOT Avian Vets. They may just know enough to be dangerous to your bird's health and well being.
Let us know what the Avian Vet says, and stop trying to force bird to take something that may kill her as I don't think she has worms but an infection that needs to be diagnosed and treated by an Avian Vet. Thanks for writing,
