splayed legs
by: Anonymous

This sounds more like splayed legs.

From what I have been taught. This has to do with the way they were raised. This can happen for many reasons.

Many times there is nothing a vet can do for this. In the case the bird may be injured. You should see a vet.

Look for videos with splayed legs and birds. Then let us know if this is the same symptom or not.

Thank you

Your bird is crippled for whatever reason and has to be examined and helped by an Avian Vet in your area. There is a link on this site for help finding one or you can use local phone books.
Find an Avian Vet

All baby birds need to be kept on some kind of welded wire flooring, when being handfed, that is not too big a square. It needs to be large enough so they can get their toes easily out if they get them into the wire and small enough so entire foot cannot go through it. I don't know how you're keeping this one, but either you are doing it incorrectly or this bird is crippled from birth. An Avian Vet can tell you more about it, and please take him in quickly because this is causing bird a lot of pain.
