I think my Amazon Parrot... Molly is trying to Mate with me.

At first I thought my Parrot was acting strange... She does this jerky movements...and clucking.

Then I realized the ONLY time she does this is when she is on my shoulder.... she goes into a kind of fit... clucking, jerking.. and she puts her claw up and grabs my ear.
She will climb down my shirt and press herself against me.

She NEVER does this any other time except when she is on me.

Amazon getting hormonal

I would discourage this behavior by saying "nooooo" in a low firm voice and then put the bird back in it's cage. Then wait a few minutes and get the bird back out. Continue repeating this cycle and eventually it will catch on that it will be put back in it's cage if it does this.

Also, please read up on Amazon parrots. They can become VERY aggressive when hormonal. Even an Amazon that is tame and like your best friend, may not be able to be handled for a couple of years.

By allowing your Amazon on your shoulder, you are risking a potential attack that may require surgery.
