What should I give to my parot he is only one month.from where I bought it the seller of parrots said just give him yellow mash dal for 1 more month than u can give him every fruits vegetables. .. is it right??is any specie of parot can talk..... if it is pet how I learn him pleas help me

Editor's note: You need someone in person to help you learn proper hand feeding. The breeder that sold you the bird is only in it for the money, unfortunately. Find a GOOD breeder to train you and find an avian vet to help you with nutrition, because I don't know what is available where you live.

what does a ringneck parrot eat

Editor's note: Your bird needs to be eating baby parrot hand-feeding formula which you can find on this site or in a pet store that has bird food. It has to be mixed with water, heated up and fed with a syringe. The baby needs to be eating at least 4 times a day. Once baby is well and eating, then you can start weaning it onto organic Pellets, and Tracie carries several of those here. The best one is Harrison's, and this would be 85-90% of bird's diet with no more than 10-15% fruit and/or veggies given.

feeding parrots baby food
by: Anonymous

I have fed ringnecks and sun conures a mixture of baby food and the hand feeding formula and never had a problem. Exotic birds need fruit and vegetables in their diet. When these foods are fed to the mother she feeds them to the babies. There are some vegetables such as avacadoes that are poisonous to exotic birds, but you can find a list of these on line. Do not use salt or grease in the vegetables when you cook them, but otherwise they are fine.

Your bird is sick and needs to go to an Avian(Bird) Vet immediately. It is not getting any nutrition because baby parrots cannot eat human baby food as it makes them very sick and will kill them.

Your bird needs to be eating baby parrot hand-feeding formula which you can find on this site or in a pet store that has bird food.

So, your bird is dying from starvation and toxic poisoning from eating people's food. You must find an Avian Vet and have baby checked out for poisoning and infections so he can be given the proper medicine to help get him well. You MUST START FEEDING THE BABY PARROT HAND-FEEDING FORMULA ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS ON THE PACKAGE AS THIS BIRD IS DYING AND DOES NOT HAVE MUCH LONGER TO GO ON THIS WAY. Please do not delay helping him or he will die. Once all this is taken care of, please get some books or other reading material on how to care for a parrot. They have special needs for cages, toys and food, and you needed to have already done all your study before buying a bird. We hope everything works out okay for the baby, and it may if you get busy giving it the care and attention it has to have to live.
