I have a pr of african greys that are 11 & 12 yrs old. They have had 2 & 3 clutches a yr for me for the last 5 yrs.All of a sudden, the last 2 clutches of 3 eggs each have been infertile. The birds are very healthy and happy.I give them good seeds, pellets, fruits and vegetables.I give fresh water daily. They are the only pr of birds I have so they have not been around any other birds.

Inferile Eggs being laid
by: The Vet

Has anything changed on the way they are housed or cared for?

Infertility can be caused by many things. For example anything that can hinder mounting and copulation such as unstable perches, perches that are the wrong size, slippery perches; the males toe nails could be sharp and is painful to the female so she will not allow him to mount; environmental disturbances. In addition, there are physiological and medical reasons such as impotence and infertility on the males part; testicular infections, loss of interest, obesity, ovarian cysts and tumors, other reproductive disease...

You should determine what if anything has changed and have them medically examined; including x-rays and exploratory laparoscopy.

Also; although the diet sounds balanced, be sure they are waiting at least 80% pellets and not the colored ones.
