Injured pigion

by Ashley
(Canada)

I found a healthy looking pigion outside flapping around in the snow. I took it home and there are no broken bones or wings that i can see, it walks fine and eats. The only problem is that it wont fly and it turns it head in an odd motion when it gets scared and flopps around. whats wrong with it?

Im doing my best to care for it, I have a soft bed with a bowl of water and food, and a warm heating system, Im just not sure what kind of problem the bird has.

I agree with the first person who posted. However, I want to caution you, pigeons carry many dieases that you can contract. Please wash your hands thoroughly after handling him or changing the bedding, even refreshing food and water.

If you have another bird, please do not have them in the same room. You can also call the local humane society, and they can help you find the resources to get the bird the wild life attn that it needs.

I hope you find this imformative, and wish you luck.

There isn't any way for Dr B or anyone to be able to tell what is wrong without examining the bird, sorry. Since this is a wild bird, you may be able to find a wildlife rehabilitator to help you with this. If not, you will need to Find an Avian Vet to examine the bird.
