is he ill?

Becoming lethargic, less active, eating less, sleeping more are the first signs of illness, and should not be ignored. Find an Avian Vet in your driving are and take him in to be checked out. Have avian vet do a throat swab to check for bacterial infections as the anal swab is next to useless since bacteria resides there all the time. Have some general bloodwork done to make sure no viral infections show and to get blood levels on organs. If all is well with the organs, then you have a baseline for later on in his life from which avian vet can draw conclusions as to whether organs are functioning properly or not. Also have him weighed so you have a baseline for weight too. Birds should be seen at least once a year by avian vet, and these baselines will help a great deal in seeing if there is anything off anywhere.

Thanks very much for writing, and you have an opportunity here to get your bird well before he starts going downhill fast. Once a bird is really sick, it takes a long time to bring them back, so your early observations are to be commended. We thank you, and your bird also thanks you and can trust you to have his back.

Poorly grey
by: Lisa

Exactly the same as my grey. Get him to a vet ASAP. Mine has a viral infection and being treated with antibiotics. They can deteriorate fast so please get him seen. My grey doesn't seem to be getting better :o(

It is likely he is ill. This is the first sign of illness in many cases.
