is it safe to have mirror in cage of african gray parrot

The ONLY mirror safe for the larger parrots is one made of stainless steel, and it is larger and heavier. Never, ever put one of the small plastic ones for Budgies in a large bird's cage because they will hurt themselves and/or poison themselves on the plastic. Always make sure any toys for your bird are for his size to keep him from being hurt or killed. All bird toys sold are in sections according to bird's size.

Mirror and birds

Some people have different opinions about giving thier bird a mirror.

I personally allow my birds to have a mirror.
However, I never put it in thier cage. Most bird toys with mirrors are bird safe.

I personally bought a mirror for my wall... and hung it up near the cage, but far enf away the bird had no access to it. This way all the birds could see in the mirror. My birds personally love the mirrors.

I personally see nothing wrong with them.
Greys have a strong beak, they can and will break mirrors.

If you want to give your bird one, do what I did. I have 2 greys, an amazon, and an IRN. This will prevent injury by getting a wall mirror they can only look into, but not have access too.

Good luck
