Jealouse Green Cheek Conure.

I have a green cheek she's about 4 or so now I got her when sh was 3 and I had 2 cockatiels way before I got her and she's super jealous of them and doesn't like them out of there cage or me talking or holding them. If I go to pick her up or get her out anytime after I talked to the other birds she doesn't want me to get her out and will bite if I try. She is vary aggressive twords them and me if I've gotten them out I'm not sure what to do.

Take her out of the cage first and play with her. Then put her in her cage and take your Cockatiels out and play with them. This may help as she feels she should be the first one out. You will just need to keep working with her and getting her out whether she seems to want you to or not.Eventually, she'll settle down if you don't give up on her.

The Conures are very much more aggressive than the gentle Cockatiels, so continue to keep them separated. Never have them all out of cage at once as this will lead to serious injury and even death.

Jelousy is a normal reaction because birds have the emotional/mental development of 4-5 year old human children which means they are children all their lives, and our job is to make sure they are safe and fed only healthy food. The behavior of your Conure is similar to a jealous child, so try and see her like that, and it will make working with her easier for you.

Keep us posted, and keep up the good work.

Linda
