Breeding or courtship behavior
by: The Avian Vet

This may be a breeding or courtship behaviors, however, I thin you should have her examined by an avian veterinarian as soon as possible in case it is a health concern. If she is hand fed, it is likely that she only wants you or a human for a mate and may not get along with another bird.

I think its a mating ritual
by: Patricia W

My kakariki Jade use to do that when I petted her back and I think it is a mating call. The more I petted or the firmer, the more she lifted her little bum in the air and put her head back and the louder she got. I lost her on November 25th she passed away at the age of 7 due to some kind of lung issue.

They are so much fun and very smart. I loved her dearly.
