Lactaid Milk

by Marla
(Suwanee, GA. USA)

Hello,

I was wondering if it was okay to give your bird Lactaid milk, in small quantities of course.

Thanks, Marla

Re: Lactaid for birds?

Why would you? It's nothing they would encounter in the wild. What do you think is missing from your bird's diet, that would make this necessary or even desirable?

Giving Lactaid to your bird
by: The Vet

I don’t really see why you would want to. But, if it does not contain lactose, it is OK. Birds are naturally lactose intolerant and cannot digest dairy. One should avoid feeding milk and other dairy products.
