Large bump on Parakeet

Hello, About a month ago, I noticed that my male parakeet, who is at least 6 years old, has a bump in his abdomen area on the right side. It seems to get larger and smaller every now and then. Sometimes it looks like it may be going away, other times it's very conspicuous.

He has gotten lazy with age in terms of trimming his beak and nails, but he does have another male in the cage with him with whom he gets along well, and his attitude is good. He doesn't seem sickly, his droppings look normal, he chirps and moves around the cage. On and off he does seem a bit tired and quiet, but overall he doesn't seem that bad.

Do you have any idea what this bump could be, if there's anything I can do for him, etc?

I Agree,
Two of my keets over the years had the same problem.
It ended up being a tumor.

Bump on Parakeet.

Dr. B suggests that all birds with undiagnosed lumps see an avian vet asap. The only way to determine what is wrong is for the bird to be examined by an avian vet.

There are just too many things that could be wrong and you do not want to waste time treating the wrong thing.
