limp leg and hurt wing

by Christy
(Florida)

My bird got stepped on he is a three year old parakeet and now his right leg is limp he cannot grip with it and his right wing is messed up. He can close his wing but tends to favor it at times. He isn't getting around very good. Can't climb his cage. Will he get better? Can he live with a broken leg? Just wondering what I can do. Really can't afford a vet visit.

Parakeet stepped on
by: The Vet

He is not going to get better without treatment. I suppose he could survive a broken leg, but he is in pain and complications could arise that would be live threatening.

Please take him to see a veterinarian. He needs to be looked at. It is inhumane not to take him in.
