I have a indian grey ringneck who is looking very shabby all of a sudden, she eats well (i feed her parrot mix and fruit daily, now and again an egg) but her feathers suddenly don't look good could she be moulting and what could all the screaming be about all of a sudden. She isn't even a year old yet.

Bird losing feathers and screaming
by: The Avian Vet

The reason your bird looks like this is because she is on a poor diet. It may also be affected by the lack of UV light. Molting may play a small role. You should be feeding 80% pellets, such as Harrison's, and only 20% treats. The foods you mention are just treats and do not offer a complete and balanced diet. The egg is an OK treat, but do not feed the yolk, or only feed small amount occasionally because it can lead to high cholesterol and triglycerides which can cause heart disease.

If you do not have an artificial UV light, then she needs one. You should have it 24 inches away from the cage, and have it on for 2-4 hours per day. The screaming could be normal behaviors or may be exacerbated by having a cage that is too small or by locating the cage in an area of low traffic within the home.
