Lorikeet scratching

by Tiffany Ferrantino
(Australia)

Hi i got a lutino lorikeet she is only 3 months old, she has been scratching her nostrils, and biting her back and everywhere that is itching. She is also losing feathers 2-3 a day, I want to know is this seasonal as it is summer here or is it mites?

Lory scratching itself

It could be that the air is too dry, it could be that your bird has an infection or disease, it could be it is allergic to something. It would be best for you to Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird to determine what is causing this behavior.
