Lorikeet losing weight
by: Tracie

You need to take your bird to see an avian vet. Dr B would need to examine your bird and possibly run tests to determine why it is losing weight.

It is possible that your bird had health issues when you purchased it. Did your bird come with a health certificate stating it had been checked by an avian vet with a 6 month health guarantee? The pet store aught give a health guarantee or not sell birds in my opinion.

weight problem
by: Leazy

My male lorikeet had a good weight on him when I bought him from the pet shop, I've had for 3 months now and he looks as if he has lost weight. He's not eating like he used too.

More information needed
by: Tracie

Dr B will need more information to help you.
* What does your bird weigh now?
* When was the last time your bird saw an avian vet?
* Is your bird healthy, or getting over an illness?
* What weight did your avian vet tell you that your bird needed to reach?
