Lorikeet with lump that looks like an egg on its head.

I was giving my lorikeet a scratch on the top of his head like I do every day and I have discovered a lump on his head. It is smooth and round and is the color of an egg, sort of an off white or light cream color. it seems to protrude into his head and cannot be removed by just pulling it off although I havent really tried.

i am wondering if it is a tumor or something I need to be worried about? The bird doesnt seem to mind it but I wouldliketo know if this is dangerous to its health? Thanx, Tank.

P.S It is a rainbow lorikeet.

Yes I agree, he does need to go to the vet so Ive made an appointment. As for the lump, I do not believe it grew over night because now its been 5 days and there is no change but he will be getting it examined so thanx to all who have replied.

Any abnormal growth needs to be checked out by a vet. Birds do get cancer or it could be an abcess.
I'm sure there are other things that could cause this but it would still require a vet visit.
