Bent neck on bird
by: The Avian Vet

This could be from a stroke. You need to take your bird to see an avian veterinarian immediately.

Unless the Avian Vet did xrays, there is no way of telling what is wrong. Take bird back and request xrays of his neck to see if this is from an injury like flying into a wall. If bird's wings are not clipped, then have Avian Vet do this as birds flying all over a house is one of the most dangerous things for them to be able to do. They can also fly out the door and be lost forever.

So, this sounds like is may be the result of an injury and xrays have to be done to see what is wrong with neck. It could also be something else, so bloodwork has to be done to ensure that there is no infection or other problems with organs that could cause a degenerative disease of this kind.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
