Thank you very much for the advice. I took all the babies to the avian vet and they all had blood tests done and all got a clean bill of health besides for Junior (the one with the swollen bump" he has been put on antibiotics for a week and will got two injections to boost his immune system. So hopefully he will get better soon. Fingers crossed.

Thank you

Your baby bird is SICK, and this means finding an Avian Vet in your area somewhere. There is a link on this site for help in finding Avian Vet, and you may have to travel some distance. There is nothing anyone can do unless they are an Avian Vet who will examine, diagnose and treat your bird's infection.

Make no mistake, your bird is very sick and needs the services of avian vet immediately. If you have other baby birds in this nest, they will also need to be seen by avian vet.

We do not recommend ANY over the counter meds, even those sold in pet stores because until you know the cause of infection, it cannot be treated, and the over the counter meds can and do kill birds, so find Avian Vet.

thanks for writing,
Linda

Bird with liquid bump
by: Tracie

The only way to find out what is causing this is to take your bird to an avian vet. There is nothing you can do at home, because you need to have the fluid in the "bump" tested to know what is causing this and what to prescribe to solve it.
