lovebird fell into pool - saved but now cannot hear

Love bird fell into the pool 2 days ago, now cannot hear but eat well. Looks ok. perhaps water gets into ear. what should i do, should i wait for it to recover itself of bring to vet - can vet do anything?

Yes, the Avian Vet can help but you must get your bird to them quickly. Chlorinated water is deadly for birds in that chlorine is a killer of tissue, and the longer you wait, the more certain the permanent damage. The ears may not be the only damage either, so waiting is not an option. The bird should have been taken to an avian vet by now instead of writing and waiting on a response. Your bird's hearing is dependent on you getting him to vet quickly. His eyes may also be damaged which means having a blind and deaf bird dependent on you forever.

I also recommend you have your bird's wings clipped which would be the 4-6 primary flight feathers which are the long ones at the ends of each wing. Do not allow them to be cut any higher as this is not necessary and causes bird chronic pain and suffering.

So, get bird to avian vet now and keep him away from the pool from now on. If he is to sit outside near the pool, make sure cage is closed with bird in it.
