Lovebird head twitching

I have a female fishers love bird of unknown age and today she has started to twitch and shake here head from side to side every time she moves. She doesn't seem to have control of her head. We think that its a calcium deficiency being that she is laying eggs but she dosen't seem to want here cuddle bone.

Diet not the problem
by: Anonymous

My bird is on a pellet diet, and always has been and I've noticed that she has started with the head twitching as well. Other birds that are in my home are on a pellet/seed/fresh food diet and don't have any problems health wise. So I don't think diet has anything to do with this problem.

Calcium deficiency in bird
by: Tracie

Dr B will not be able to help your bird, you need to get your bird to an avian vet right away. (Sometimes it is days before Dr B can respond.)

Find an Avian Vet

Also, your bird would not have a calcium deficiency if you were feeding it Harrison's pellets. Please work on switching your bird to pellets.
