Lovebird not feeling well

by Jeanne
(Kihei, Hi)

My lovebird suddenly fell off the perch one night. Since then he has been lethargic, wont eat, drinks water and when he does it comes right back up. Had no poo in the beginning of this now it is back to normal. Tongue looks a little pinkish white/
Are these signs of Iodine deficiency?

I fixed him without the doctor!!!
by: Owner of original question

I hand fed with a syringe my bird Exact Handfeeding formula for three straight days, Using Ornacycaline Powder with water for mixing the formula, kept him in a small cage with a heater, and Quicko MultiVitamin mixed with his water as his only drinking source, He turned around by the third day and in a week was back to himself.
No idea what the problem was but I got it turned around with out stressing him in a vet office.
Thank you for all you help.

Lovebird falling off perch
by: The Avian Vet

These are not signs of an iodine deficiency. Your bird is very sick and needs immediate veterinary care from an experienced avian veterinarian.

Sick lovebird

I have asked Dr B to answer this, but honestly you need to get your bird to an avian vet right away. Dr B can't examine your bird or run any tests to tell you what your bird needs.

Find an Avian Vet

If your bird is deficient in anything, then you are probably not feeding your bird a healthy pellet diet, like Harrison's or Roudybush pellets.

Feeding an all seed diet, table food diet or a colored pellet diet will eventually cause your bird's immune system to decline and illness to set in.
