Yes, but do not put a strange bird in the cage with the one you have. Lovebirds are aggressive birds, and so we suggest people never put strange birds together in cages for any of the species.

First, you will have to take new bird to an Avian Vet to be checked for infections or other physical problems. Then the bird you have now will also need to be checked for infections especially if you lost its mate. You may want to take both at the same time if your bird has not been examined within the last year.

Put cages side by side so birds can get to know each other, and if they are ever out of cage at the same time, be right there keeping an eye on them. Breeding is a long way off, so take care of both birds and enjoy them. There's NO money in breeding birds, so if that's your motive, you may as well just enjoy your two birds and forget breeding.
