my lovebird lost it's feathers on it's butt and lower abdomen, and the abdomen is large. it looks like there's eggs in her belly. is this normal?

No, this is NOT normal, and you will need to take her to an Avian Vet as soon as you can get an appointment.

Please do not delay, because this sounds like an infection, and your bird will get sicker as time goes on. Birds do not recover from infections without the aid of an Avian vet who will diagnose type of infection and prescribe medicine for it.

Give NO home remedies or over the counter bird medicine carried in pet stores. Bird's infection has to be diagnosed as to what type of bacteria it is before treatment. Home remedies and over the counter drugs will hurt your bird, and it will still have the infection plus whatever damage the medicines do.

Always take your bird to an Avian Vet when it is ill, as they take extra years of schooling and interning so they know how to treat birds.
